On the way back from the passport agency in Philadelphia, I stopped by Fort Mifflin, the Revolutionary-war fort used continuously by the US Army from 1771 to 1952. It was the garrison at Fort Mifflin that held the British Navy back(!!!) so that the Continental Army could make it to winter quarters at Valley Forge. [...]
